Garmin, the brand renowned for its multisport watches specialising in geolocation, has just presented the latest device in its most iconic series. The Fenix 8, designed for adventurers and extreme athletes, comes with the first AMOLED screen in the family and the promise of a month of battery life without needing to recharge.

The Fenix 8 features significant changes compared to the previous version. While the Fenix 7 has a transflective screen, its successor has a display similar to that of high-end phones . Thanks to this, each graphic and information element of the sports watch will have more vivid colors, improving the display without affecting the full charge of the device.

Garmin offers the choice between the AMOLED display of the Fenix 8 or a transflective display with solar charging. By choosing the latter technology, the user can extend the battery life from 29 to 48 days. It also reduces the reflectivity of the sun’s rays. With the solar version, the multisport watch becomes an ideal tool for long trips.

Garmin’s new watch comes in three different formats: 43, 47 and 51 mm. The size fits most wrists. It comes in steel and titanium versions for added strength. Regardless of the size and weight of the version chosen, the device retains the comfort that characterizes Garmin devices. The heaviest edition is 102 grams and the lightest, 60 grams.

In terms of durability, Garmin has designed “leak-proof” metal buttons and an external protector for the most delicate sensors. In addition, the screen cover can be made of sapphire to prevent scratches during travel, and the bezel is made of titanium, a stronger and lighter material than stainless steel.

Although these are not essential features for an adventure trip, the Fenix 8 has a built-in speaker and microphone. If you receive a call on your phone and the Garmin is paired, you can talk by bringing the watch close to your mouth. The native GarminOS operating system is enriched with this functionality. It is now possible to command instructions by voice. Actions such as setting timers or stopwatches will be easier to execute.

These kinds of gadgets excel at measuring physical performance and encouraging an active lifestyle. The Fenix 8 offers a strength training planning system for those just starting out. It also has plans for those who enjoy running , cycling or hiking. It is water resistant to 100 meters. In addition, it is the first Fenix to incorporate the sport of 40-meter diving.

Each morning, a training readiness score can help determine if it’s a good day to push yourself or take it easy, while advanced training metrics like endurance score, slope score, VO2 max, training status and more can help measure overall performance,” the brand details.
